When medieval means festival
As previously also announced, the Medieval Festival of Gourdon early August is a must if your children love knights. And even more, “Durandal” a new summer event began near Rocamadour, offering children a knights school on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 am, and an incredible show with horses and knights, all on a very interesting educational background at 15h and 17h except Saturdays. Quick itinerary reminder, from your unusual holiday rental at les Hauts d’Albas, Rocamadour is only 1 hour drive (by motorway). Besides we should not forget a humbler place yet managed with passion, located past Montcuq, only 20 minutes from your original gite : Castel des Chevaliers.
Observe all around you right from your modern yurt
Sometimes one must not go very far to rejoice faced with a mother deer and her baby quietly grazing only a few meters from the wooden terrace of your modern yurt when you awake. Just as the terrace of the outdoor pool, a perfect observatory overlooking two valleys where deer, foxes, hawks, wild boars and hares converge. For animal lovers, this is the place. When you feel somewhat more courageous you’ll take your walking shoes and leave right from your unusual accommodation on the trails of the Quercy and will be surprised by the diversity of landscapes and views on the Lot, not to mention the flora fans for whom each ditch means a multitude of flowers. Lastly starry heavens lovers will be delighted, looking up from their unusual accommodation terrace to discover a starry night sky without any light pollution, for example, look at the pictures of Milky Way nights on our Facebook page where you will discover photographic masterpieces, work of an astro-physician friend of ours.
