Make the most of your stay with a visit of a truffle farm in the Quercy region
Discovering truffles – Truffle farm in the Quercy Blanc region
This region is celebrated for its black gold, Melanosporum, better known as black truffle. The black truffle comes from the south west of France, a region called Périgord.
All year long, Jean-Paul organises commented visits of his truffle farm, where his guests also attend a truffle-hunting session with his dog, looking for truffles. This hour and a half visit will enable you to discover how truffles evolve in time and in the end, to recognise good quality truffles.
The truffle harvest period starts beginning of December and finishes end of March.
Even out of season, Jean-Paul insures you a great truffle-hunting experience: he uses a lure with truffle oil on it, so that you can still discover how its dog usually finds it.
Jean-Paul’s truffle farm is a just few minutes far from the property Les Hauts d’Albas. Take advantage of this great opportunity to discover Jean-Paul’s uncommon and quiet site.
